Location
Our offices can be found on South Grape Street just south of the emergency entrance to Palomar Medical Center in the center of Escondido. Located in an historic remodeled home, the office is conveniently located near highways 78 and 15.
Availability
Appointments are scheduled by calling our office.
Hours are Monday through Friday 9:00 am to 12 noon and 1:30 pm to 4:30 pm.
Emergency coverage is available through an answering service twenty-four hours a day.
Coverage is provided by Christopher P. Khoury, M.D., Michael A. Newhouse, M.D. and Andrew C. Schiffman, MD, all board-certified psychiatrists, when Dr. Ken Khoury is unavailable.

Dr. Khoury chose to specialize in psychiatry because it bestows the privilege of helping individuals make profound changes in their lives.
Board Certifications
Dr. Khoury is certified by the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology in Psychiatry and has subspecialty certification in addiction psychiatry and forensic psychiatry.
Biography
Dr. Khoury was born in Oklahoma City. He attended the University of Notre Dame and graduated in 1966 as valedictorian of his class, receiving a Bachelor of Science degree Maxima cum Laude. Dr. Khoury completed his medical degree at the Yale School of Medicine in 1970 and his specialty training in psychiatry at UCSD in 1973. Dr. Khoury has remained on the faculty in the Department of Psychiatry at the University of California and has received the Excellence in Teaching award from the department.
He has been actively involved in the San Diego Psychiatric Association, serving a number of leadership positions, culminating in the Presidency from 1999 to 2000. He has been a member of the San Diego County Medical Society for many years. He has been awarded Fellowship in the American Psychiatric Association for outstanding contributions to psychiatry. Dr. Khoury is Medical Director of the Glenner Alzheimer’s Family Center in Escondido and psychiatric consultant to the Gambro Hemodialysis Center.
Research
Dr. Khoury has also been involved in researching organizational and career transition and in global health care delivery. He has given papers in Europe and South America and has a published chapter in Modern Organizations and Emerging Conundrums entitled "The Business of Media: Organizing Carnival by the New Entrepreneurs."

Treatment
Each individual is carefully evaluated and his or her needs, both biological and psychological are addressed. Therapy involves psychotherapeutic intervention and psychopharmacologic treatment as required.
